Weekly Offerings

Looking to make the most of your stay? With regularly scheduled tea blending, guided history tours yoga classes, and more, there’s so much to do in Aurora without ever stepping foot in your car. The following activities are offered on a weekly basis and are complimentary for Inns of Aurora guests. Please note that these offerings are not guaranteed and are subject to change — check our activities calendar for the most accurate offerings.

Mondays

10:30 – 11:45 a.m. — Movement and Meditation with Julie Hall, RYT
Melt into Mondays with Julie Hall, RYT 200. This class is created to move you into poses (asanas) which help to strengthen the body and focus the mind. You will be encouraged to journey through your practice and ease into meditation where you will be guided on a journey to a place of stillness and peace. Mindfulness will continue as you come to rest in savasana (restful pose.)

Modifications and variations will be offered throughout the class, making this class accessible to students of all levels. This class is open and free for Inns of Aurora guests and is available to the public for a $14 drop-in fee. All equipment is provided.

2:00 – 3:00 p.m. — Guided Walking Tour
Join a tour guide from the Inns of Aurora for a one-hour stroll through the Village of Aurora. Topics will vary and include highlights of architecture, history, the art collection, and rare and interesting trees and other natural wonders. Tours depart from the Aurora Inn lobby.

6:00 – 7:00 p.m. — Intermediate Vinyasa Flow with Olivia Shea, RYT
Join Oliva Shea, RYT 200, for a fast-paced vinyasa class. Creative sequencing built around sun salutations inform movement in and out of postures. With an emphasis on breath and timing, this yoga experience is a great way to re-energize the body and mind. In this class, held in the Loft, you’ll build heat in the body and detoxify while cultivating strength, flexibility, and endurance. Classes include traditional and creative sequences of postures designed to enliven breath as well as invigorate and challenge the body. This offering is intermediate level, open and free for Inns of Aurora guests and is available to the public for a $14 drop-in fee.

Tuesdays

4:00 – 5:00 p.m. — Gratitude Yoga with Laura Coburn, E-RYT
Before you celebrate around the Thanksgiving table, find gratitude in your heart with this simple and gentle yet powerful practice. Through a series of uplifting and heart-supporting postures, we’ll open to the power of giving and receiving. Join Laura Coburn, E-RYT 200, AYS, and Director of Serenity at the Inns of Aurora for a yoga experience designed to help you release tension and stress, promote healing in your body, and help quiet your mind. A certified Relax and Renew teacher with a specialization in gentle and restorative yoga, Laura is exceptionally skilled at adapting postures to meet each student’s needs. This class is open and free for Inns of Aurora guests and is available to the public for a $14 drop-in fee. All equipment is provided.

Wednesdays

12:00 – 1:00 p.m. — Director of Serenity Open Office Hours 
Drop-in at the Loft and have a chat with Laura Coburn, the Director of Serenity at the Inns of Aurora. Learn about diet and lifestyle practices, blend your own tea, create a fragrant sachet from a variety of dried flowers, herbs, and spices, or make a personalized essential oil roll-on to support your personal wellness goals. Director of Serenity open office hours are free for Inns of Aurora guests and is available to the public for a $20 drop-in fee.

2:30 – 3:15 p.m. — Tea Blending
Join Laura Coburn, Director of Serenity at the Inns of Aurora, for a spot of tea and enjoy the hands-on accomplishment of blending your own from a variety of organic flowers and herbs. Tea blending is open and free for Inns of Aurora guests and is available to the public for a $5 drop-in fee.

Thursdays

4:00 – 5:00 p.m. — Guided Walking Tour

5:30 – 6:30 p.m. — All-Level Vinyasa Flow Yoga with Jackie Mastro, E-RYT
Beginning November 30
Join this all-level Vinyasa style yoga class with experienced teacher Jackie Mastro, E-RYT 500. Vinyasa means “movement driven by breath.” In this class, held in the Loft, all movements are linked to breath for a total body experience. The connecting movements between the poses, vinyasas, not only provide a full body workout, but bring a dance like quality to the class supporting a meditation in motion sensation. Through this strengthening, energetic and vigorous vinyasa practice students develop body and breathe awareness drawing their focus inward, uniting mind, body and spirit. Modifications and variations will be offered throughout the class, making this class accessible for students of all levels. This class is open and free for Inns of Aurora guests and is available to the public for a $14 drop-in fee. All equipment is provided.

Fridays

9:00 – 10:00 a.m. — Sun Salutations with Olivia Shea, RYT
Join Oliva Shea, RYT 200 for a guided exploration of sun salutations punctuated by rest in gentle postures or optional vinyasas. Focus the mind and allow it to rest from wandering. Hear the breath; hold the gaze (dristi), and find your center Following a sequenced flow, find restorative repose and consciously relax the mind and body. This 60-minute offering is suitable for all levels, free for Inns of Aurora guests and is available to the public for a $14 drop-in fee.

4:30 – 5:30 p.m. — Gentle & Restorative Yoga with Laura Coburn, E-RYT
Beginning November 10
Join Laura Coburn, E-RYT 200, AYS, and Director of Serenity at the Inns of Aurora for a yoga experience designed to help you release tension and stress, promote healing in your body, and help quiet your mind. Special Edition: Silent Night Restorative yoga in December: During what can be a busy, bustling month, join us for a calming, candlelit yoga practice. Accompanied by instrumental music, this quiet class will make for the perfect relaxing setting far away from the fray of the holidays.

Saturdays

8:00 – 9:00 a.m. — Vinyasa Flow with Olivia Shea, RYT

9:30 – 10:30 a.m. — Gentle/Beginner with Laura Coburn, E-RYT
October 28, November 11, 18, 25
This foundation yoga class is designed with establishing good alignment in mind. Yoga props such as blankets, blocks, bolsters and straps are often used to support the practice, and to allow the body to fully achieve each position comfortably while releasing stress and tension from joints and muscles. This class is held at a slower pace and adaptations are offered for all bodies and conditions. Yogic breathing (pranayama) and relaxation techniques will be incorporated. No previous experience is needed. Equipment is provided. Open to the public for a drop-in rate of $14 and is complimentary for Inns of Aurora guests and employees.
