Holiday Décor

Each December, Aurora transforms into a snow globe of holiday cheer. For this one magical month, each building is decorated from head-to-toe in their individual styles. Take a sneak peek at the highlights below, sign up for a guided walking tour on our activities calendar, and book your stay in Aurora this December to experience the magic for yourself!

The Aurora Inn

Our flagship property, the Aurora Inn, keeps true to its classic style during the holidays. Red ribbon adorns the garland on the fireplace mantels, and also makes a show-stopping tree topper. On the tree, hand-painted glass ornaments and crystal icicles lend the finishing touches. In the Lakeside Room downstairs, a woodland-themed tree features birds and berry sprigs. Outside, the balconies of the front of the Aurora Inn proudly display snow-covered evergreen garland with red bows.

E.B. Morgan House

Playful and sophisticated, E.B. Morgan House sports its holiday décor in hues of pink and green. Carefully tucked into the tree, pink Amaryllis blooms coordinate with the flowing silk drapes in the parlor. The home’s original dramatic front doors—with their distinctive etched glass windows—are framed by softly glowing garlands, and a nearby tree accents the home’s front porch.

Rowland House

Red decorations are right at home at Rowland House! Evergreen swags and garland around the home’s front doors feature red Tartan ribbon, and the tree twinkles in red and silver. Touches of gold illuminate the dining room, playing off the space’s distinctive modern chandeliers. Two tiny trees on the third floor are tucked underneath the home’s gables, coordinating with the whimsical MacKenzie-Childs designs found on that floor. Outside, the home’s iconic Greek temple also get a holiday treatment with its own festive tree.

Zabriskie House

A lightly frosted tree with white and soft pink ornaments complement the striking blue and white interiors at Zabriskie House. Boxwood garland adorns the home’s two fireplace mantels, and a forest of mercury silver trees decorate the butler’s pantry. In the green dining room, striking white birds rest on the branches of a cheerful slender tree.

Wallcourt Hall

The Christmas decorations at Wallcourt Hall mirror its bold, modern design. An otherwise unadorned tree is coated in a layer of a million tiny lights—reminiscent of stars in the night sky—and a white geometric star crowns it all. Silver ornaments ornaments are tucked into the greenery atop the dramatic fireplace mantel, and a contemporary arrangements of birch logs and evergreen sprays flank the front door.

Whichever property you choose, a stay in Aurora in December is a distinctive experience unlike any other throughout the year. Cozy up by the fireplace with a good book, sip a cup of tea by the glow of the Christmas tree, or stroll down Main Street and feel the magic of the season.
